Suicide Prevention Motivation
I think the phrase “suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem” is very shallow. It gives the impression of meaningful and deep in a sense, but the more you look into it, it's really just another phrase people throw around — not all problems are temporary. Chronic illnesses, poverty, or situations that take effort and time to get out of don’t get better because you simply hoped or prayed to a God for it to get better. Even if it’s considered temporary, it shows a more insulting tone. These problems stay for almost generations on end, and all you have to say is that it’s temporary? Even if it seems like it’s been set in stone before the ages? It gives the impression of the person’s suffering invalidated and small — suicide is not a solution also. the simple word ‘solution’ gives the idea of it being like a math problem and you just have to do a certain action for the problem to be solved. it’s more like an exit. An escape for the reality they are faced with on a day to day basis. No matter how much pretending you do, it’s still going to be there like a tv that doesn’t stop glowing. In fact, you make people feel more enclosed the more you pushed that type of agenda on to themselves. the exit symbolizes freedom than the life that’s supposed to be free. Imagine yourself in a locked room, if you believe there’s no way out, you’re first instinct is probably to panic. But, as soon as you see the open door, you’ve return to a relaxed state. It’s having a choice of staying or leaving — you might never leave, but having an option on standby when everything is crumbling down gives a blanket of comfort to one’s consciousness. It’s a quote that irks me that i needed to talk about. It’s simplified human’s despairs to a motivational poster. Suffering is never a happy case, and discouraging the only exit they have, you’re no better.
